Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 March, the 8th regional meeting of the heads of border agencies of the CIS member states was held in Khiva (Uzbekistan).

It was attended by representatives of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as the Council of Border Troops Commanders, the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure, the CIS Executive Committee and the CIS ATC.

The influence of modern geopolitical factors on challenges and threats to border security on the external borders of the CIS states in the Central Asian region is considered. Measures to counter them have been developed.

Steps to strengthen border cooperation were discussed.

Ways have been outlined to use the potential of the SKPV in building multilateral interaction in the border area, including with the working structures of specialized international organizations.
