Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 December, the 7th meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish intergovernmental commission was held in Ankara (Türkiye).

The event was held by the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan - Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov and the Vice President of Türkiye Cevdet Yilmaz.

Today’s topical issues of cooperation between the two countries were discussed at the meeting.

In particular, based on Türkiye’s experience in the field of pharmaceuticals, building materials, leather and footwear, textiles, furniture, jewelry and glass production, it is important to establish cooperation in training qualified specialists in these areas in Uzbekistan, he emphasized.

It was decided to create a list of the main problems in these areas and work together to eliminate them throughout the year.

It was noted with satisfaction that agreements had been reached in Uzbekistan on improving the national system of qualifications and professional standards based on the experience of Türkiye, the creation of an “Uzbek-Turkish” monocenter, and the training of qualified specialists.

The Ministry of Trade of Türkiye reported that the issue of sending leading companies in the six above-mentioned industries to Uzbekistan will be worked out in the near future.

As a result of the meeting, the protocol of the 7th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye, as well as the “Action Plan” and 7 bilateral documents were signed.
