The 21st Meeting of Ministers of the SCO member states responsible for foreign economic and foreign trade activities takes place

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 September 2022, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Khurram Teshabaev, took part in the 21st Meeting of Ministers of the SCO Member States responsible for foreign economic and foreign trade activities.

The parties exchanged views on the current state and prospects for further development of trade, economic and investment cooperation in the SCO space, including in the field of liberalization and facilitation of trade and investment procedures, the multilateral trading system, production and supply chains, digital economy, regional trade and economic cooperation and in other areas.

The Uzbek side noted the importance of developing mechanisms for the implementation of initiatives voiced by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and other heads of delegations of countries at the SCO Council of the Heads of States. These initiatives are designed to give a new impetus to the development of multilateral cooperation between the Member States of the Organization.

As a result of the meeting, a Statement was adopted by the ministers of the SCO member states responsible for foreign economic and foreign trade activities on supporting the multilateral trading system and a Memorandum between the ministries and departments of the SCO member states responsible for foreign economic and foreign trade activities on strengthening cooperation in the field of supply chains.

The parties unanimously confirmed their intention to continue work aimed at creating a favorable environment for participants in the economic activity of the SCO member states, as well as to intensify work on the relevant SCO documents on cooperation in trade, economic and investment spheres.
