The document said that tangible cultural heritage objects can be rented by legal entities and individuals (residents and non-residents of Uzbekistan) with signing of renting agreement, Norma.uz reported.

Objects of tangible cultural heritage are monuments, ensembles and sights, which are owned by the government and represent historic, scientific, art or cultural value.

It said that the objects included to the list of objects of tangible cultural heritage, rented with accepting of investment liabilities to improve and maintain their conditions can be rented. The rent agreement should be signed with Main scientific-production department on preserving and using cultural heritage objects of the Ministry of Culture and Sport Affairs f Uzbekistan.

The list will be approved by the governmental commission on consideration of proposals of the business entities on renting cultural heritage objects. After approval by the commission, the list will be directed to renters with terms of renting.

The commission also sets minimal size of investments and terms of renting for each object based on expenses documents on restoration and preservation works, development by Ministry of Culture and Sport Affairs.

The document said that the cultural heritage objects can be used as exhibition halls, hotels, catering objects, shops of craftsmen and painters, souvenir shops, banking offices, museums, libraries, etc.

At the same, the objects cannot be used for trade activities, internet services point, photo saloons, offices of tourism agencies, sport halls, cinema, fashion houses, etc. The commission can allow to use object for other purposes.

The announcement on renting cultural heritage objects will published in mass media, official websites of commission, State Competition Committee and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.

The commission carries out selection of the candidates. The rent agreement is signed for five years and the commission can prolong it.

The regulation regulates other related issues.
