Ten committees formed in the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  At the inaugural session of Uzbekistan’s newly elected Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, held on November 18, a decision was made to establish ten restructured committees, replacing the previous twelve. Chairpersons were elected for nine of these committees.

The reduction in the number of committees resulted from merging areas such as labor, healthcare, and social issues, as well as international affairs, defense, and security.

Earlier, it was reported that Nuriddin Ismoilov was re-elected as Speaker of the Legislative Chamber, with Mavluda Khojayeva and Rahim Hakimov serving as his deputies.

Gulrukh Agzamova was elected to lead the Committee on Development of Democratic Institutions and Civil Society.

Ilkhom Abdullaev will head the Committee on Innovation Development and Information Technology.

Jakhongir Shirinov was chosen as chair of the Committee on Combating Corruption and Judicial-Legal Issues.

Bobur Bekmurodov will lead the Committee on Entrepreneurship, Competition Development, and Industry.

Ravshan Mamutov was elected chair of the Committee on Agrarian and Water Issues.

Nodir Jumayev will head the Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Sports, and Youth Affairs.

Ulugbek Shermatov was appointed chair of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense, and Security.
