Technoserv to raise energy efficiency of Uzbekenergo’s power stations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Technoserv, leading provider of products and technologies and the largest Russian company dedicated to system integration, signed contracts on implementation of project on installing and commissioning turbine-generator sets at Syrdarya thermal power station and Talimardjan thermal power station on “turn-key” basis to increase their energy efficiency.

The contracts were signed within the result of tenders, organized by Uzbekenergo state joint stock company. Both stations are part of Uzbekenergo.

Within the project, Russian company will supply equipment and carry out assembly and balancing and commissioning works of three expender-generating facilities at Syrdarya thermal power station and one at Talimardjan thermal power station. The company will also train personnel of the station on use of equipment. Each turbine expansion engine facility will be based on expender-generating facilities DGA-5000 with total capacity of over 20 megawatt and include turbogenerator, heat exchanging equipment and automated management system.

Total cost of the supplied equipment and works on these contracts make up US$10.88 million. The contracts will be paid due to resources of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan. Overall, it is planned to invest US$14.7 million to investment project “Installation of expender-generating facilities at Syrdarya and Talimardjan thermal power stations”.

Investing into modernization of capacities, Uzbekenergo increases production efficiency of the enterprises. This is achieved due to generating up to 140 million kilowatt electricity a year and decreasing prime cost of electricity output twice.
