Withing the contract, Technoserv supplied, assembled and launched two meteorological radio-locators of Baron Services, which is leader in meteorological systems. The contract sum made up US$2.56 million.
Doppler meteorological radio-locators were installed in Tashkent and Nukus, operation radius of which makes up 350 km. The locators receive information on meteorological conditions and dangerous meteorological occurrences such as storms, thunderstorms, heavy showers, snows and their location, volume each six minute. New locators will be linked to general network of the center to monitor metrological situation and ensure distance management from single center of Uzgydromet.
First Deputy Director-General of Uzgydromet Bakhodir Kadyrov said new metrological locators were purchased due to resources, issued by the government within the investment programme for improving state hydrometeorology supervision. New equipment, installed in Tashkent and Nukus, will allow receive more correct information on weather conditions, first of all for aviation, he added.
Bakhodir Kadyrov said that this will allow short-term forecast to ensure security of take-off and landing of aircrafts. He added that in future, it is planned to create network of metrological locators to ensure supply of correct weather information to all industries of economy.
Sayfutdin Tagirov, head of department on work with Asian states of Technoserv, said use of modern technologies will allow specialists of Uzgydromet to improve timeliness of weather forecasts and their correctness. The offered proposal is optimal on its price and quality, reliable and simple in use. He said that it fully meets current needs of Uzgydromet and launch new services.
