Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – In the first half of this year, tax revenues in Uzbekistan increased by 12.5%, according to the press service of the Tax Committee.
Total tax revenues for six months amounted to 85.8 trillion soums. Regional growth was 24.4%, while district growth reached 37%.
The largest increase was recorded in property tax (up by 37.6%) and land tax (31.2%). Taxes on water resource usage increased by 21%, turnover taxes by 19%, and personal income taxes by 18%.
In the regions, profit tax increased by 32.3% and VAT by 20.6%. Contributions to the pension fund amounted to 23.1 trillion soums, which is 16% more than the same period last year.
Additionally, due to identified violations, the Tax Committee took measures against 25 employees, dismissing and demoting 15 people, and holding 150 tax inspectors accountable for disciplinary issues.
In the third quarter, the plan is to increase tax revenues by at least 20%. This effort will support the search for additional income sources, reduce the shadow economy, and combat corruption.
