President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov has announced his country’s willingness to join the ’Kazakhstan - Turkmenistan - Iran’ railway.
He made the comment after a meeting with Turkmenistan’s president Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov.
The presidents of Iran, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan signed a trilateral agreement in Tehran on Tuesday concerning the construction of a railway linking the three countries.
Analysts believe the project, after implementation, could play a significant role in boosting trade ties in Central Asia.
