Pravda Vostoka newspaper reported that the first 50 Mercedes-Benz Conecto Low Floor buses will arrive in Tashkent on the eve of Independence Day of Uzbekistan (1 September).

The second party of the buses will arrive in Tashkent in October. German side will also supply spare parts and components by the end of 2012, the paper said.

On 5 March 2012, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a resolution on financing and supply of 100 passenger buses of Mercedes-Benz Conecto Low Floor model and spare parts to them in 2012.

In line with the resolution, Toshshahartranshizmat Association and EvoBus GmbH signed agreement on supply of buses for 14 million euros.

Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan will provide loan to finance the project. The loan issued for 15 years with three year grace period.
