Tashkent team enters top 10 of international championship "Formula of Intelligence"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  The final of the intellectual games championship "Formula of Intelligence" for school students took place at the Information Center for Atomic Technologies under the "Uzatom" Agency.

In the online final, 125 teams from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan competed for victory. The tournament was organized by the Autonomous Nonprofit Organization "Energy of the Future" with support from the Information Center for Atomic Technologies and the Russian State Corporation "Rosatom."

The "Formula of Intelligence" championship is held for students in grades 8-11 and follows the rules of "What? Where? When?" Teams answer questions across various disciplines, demonstrating their erudition, ingenuity, and logical thinking.

Uzbekistani students have participated in the "Formula of Intelligence" since 2022. This year, 94 teams from across the republic competed for a place in the final, with eight school groups representing Uzbekistan. The best team from Uzbekistan, "Academy of Talents" from Tashkent, secured sixth place in the international ranking. The team led in the first two rounds of the final overall but fell behind teams from Russia in the third round.

Team member Solikha Adhamova shared her impressions: "Today, we represented Uzbekistan in the final of the international game ‘Formula of Intelligence.’ Our team placed sixth overall, and first in our region. To be honest, we are not satisfied with this result. It depends on many factors, including luck. What hindered us today, oddly enough, was our excessive emotionality during the game. But we will continue to work on ourselves. We will meet again."

Yan Sadkovsky, a member of the jury for the championship in Tashkent and a champion of Uzbekistan and Eurasia in "What? Where? When?", shared his thoughts on the final: "Our guys eagerly awaited the ‘Formula of Intelligence’ this year; they asked about the championship and actively prepared. There were quality questions, some quite challenging, as students from grades 8 to 11, and even seventh grade, participated. Overall impressions of the final are very positive. The only disappointment was that one team fell just short of points to enter the top three. This means that the guys have more work to do on themselves."

He also noted improvements in players’ performances compared to previous years. For future participants in the "Formula of Intelligence," the expert advised playing more, reading, working with strong teachers, and training both endurance and emotional intelligence.

Gulrukhsor Ravshanova, Head of the Public Relations Department and Information Advisor at the "Uzatom" Agency, emphasized the high level of erudition, engagement, and awareness among the students: "Today, we witnessed young experts demonstrating their knowledge in various disciplines. They spoke confidently and accurately about clean energy technologies, which is both surprising and inspiring. We have been supporting such projects and educational initiatives for many years. Educational projects like ‘Formula of Intelligence’ create conditions and space not only for developing important skills, including logical thinking, but also for shaping students’ understanding of the future, including career choices. Many students have visited our center and expressed their aspirations to become engineers, scientists, or work in the nuclear industry. I believe that with such students, we have a bright future ahead," concluded G. Ravshanova after the event.
