Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Khokim of Tashkent city Shavkat Umurzakov met with a delegation of the Korean-Uzbek Business Association headed by First Deputy Chairman Kim Chang Keon.

Thanking for the visit, Sh. Umurzakov emphasized the long-term cooperation and friendship of Tashkent with South Korea in general, and with the Association in particular, and noted the active participation of South Korean companies in ADB tenders for waste management projects in the capital.

Kim Chang Keon expressed gratitude for the meeting and said that his every visit to Tashkent surprises him with changes and updates, which is an indicator of the quality of the work of the capital’s administration. He said that the delegation intends to discuss cooperation in the banking, financial, energy sectors, as well as in the direction of waste management, which is especially important for cities with a large population.

The guests were given detailed information about the processes of collection, sorting, disposal of waste in Tashkent; problems and issues that need to be addressed; short-term and long-term plans in this area. The readiness of the capital’s khokimiyat to comprehensively support the initiatives of potential foreign investors was expressed.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the dialogue and consider areas of practical cooperation.
