Tashkent schoolchildren tested their environmental knowledge

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, together with the Tashkent Zoo, organized the “Eco-Quest” competition dedicated to World Wildlife Day. 12 teams of students from Tashkent schools took part in it.

“School students, of course, study zoology and other sciences related to animals. The Eco-Quest event serves to further strengthen children’s knowledge in this regard. The questions at the competition were about nature and wild animals. Our goal is to increase the level of environmental knowledge of young people,” said Zarrina Abdullayeva, head of the department of the Ministry of Ecology.

The game turned out to be very tense. Questions were distributed in different parts of the zoo in front of the animal enclosure. This allowed the children to get to know them directly.

“It is no coincidence that this event is taking place at the Tashkent Zoo. In the process of searching for answers to questions, children directly interacted with animals. And this, of course, creates in them a feeling of love for animals and goodwill towards nature,” said Hakim Sobirov, head of the scientific and educational department of the Tashkent Zoo.

According to the results of the competition, the Yashnabad district team “Aiyk Bolalari” took first place, the Chilanzar district team “Legend” took second place, and the Sergeli district team “Leaders” took third place. The winning teams were awarded valuable prizes.

Each participant in the competition was also given a gift.

The Ministry of Ecology pays great attention to the protection of wildlife. In particular, every year in all protected natural areas of our country
