Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The introduction of cashless payment options in public transportation has helped Tashkent residents save 1.8 billion soums, according to Davron Shoyokubov, Director of ATTO.
Currently, Uzbekistan has over 1.5 million transport cards and 25 million bank cards in circulation, paving the way for further expansion of the cashless payment system.
Mirakbar Ikramov, Head of the Department for Transport and Road Infrastructure Development of Tashkent, emphasized that cashless payments not only increase transparency in revenue collection from passenger services but also enable route optimization through passenger flow analysis.
Residents and visitors are reminded that fare payments can be made using Visa, Mastercard, ATTO, Humo, and other payment systems.
Starting from January 2025, cash payments for public transportation in Tashkent have been fully prohibited, encouraging the shift to modern and convenient payment methods.
