Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Starting from early 2025, the passenger train service between Tashkent and Moscow will operate twice a week, according to Russian Transport Minister Roman Starovoit in a Telegram post.
He noted that from 24 September, the Tashkent-Moscow passenger train service will commence. Until the end of the year, the train will run once a week.
"From the new year, the frequency of trips will increase to twice a week," he said following talks with Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister Abdullah Aripov.
Starovoit added that the journey between Tashkent and Moscow can be completed without transfers in three days and several hours.
The train will travel via Penza, Samara, Orenburg, and Aktau, with stops in various towns along the route, allowing passengers to plan trips to other cities.
The minister also reported a positive trend in passenger traffic by Russian airlines due to bilateral cooperation.
In the first seven months of this year, Russian airlines transported over 1.2 million passengers, marking a 47% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
