Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Tashkent Metro has commenced the installation of specialized archway metal detectors (frames) at all stations. Initial work has started at the "Chinor" station on the Sergeli line of the Chilanzar metro line.

Due to an increase in passenger traffic, metro staff are required to exercise additional responsibility, and the installation of metal detectors is aimed at enhancing security measures and improving the quality of passenger service.

The exact timeline for the completion of the installation has not yet been specified.

The metro has also requested passengers to take care of their own safety and to remain attentive to their surroundings.

Currently, hand-held metal detectors are in use, through which law enforcement officers conduct checks of passengers’ personal belongings, such as bags and backpacks.
