Medical tourism is becoming popular in the world and last year Tashkent International Tourism Fair attracted several hospital and resorts of Uzbekistan and several clinics of South Korea.
Tashkent International Tourism Fair 2013 will present new opportunities in healthcare and medical services both in Uzbekistan and abroad.
The organizers also said the exhibition will focus on internal tourism as well. The exhibition will attract tourism companies of Uzbekistan, which focus on development of internal tourism in the country.
Uzbekistan has all opportunities to develop internal tourism and number of Uzbek tourists, traveling within Uzbekistan, is increasing.
Currently, 3% of population is travelling within Uzbekistan compared to 1% in 2008. In 2012, some 651,400 people received internal tourism services, which rose by 23.5% year-on-year.
Uzbektourism and the local administrations are developing regional programmes on developing tourism in the places. The programmes will focus on developing alternative types of tourism services for population, taking into account historic-cultural and natural-geographic peculiarities of the regions.
The exhibition will feature stands of the regions and it is expected to select a partner of national pavilion of Uzbekistan among the regions.
The organizers said that 80 days left till the start of the exhibition and about 75% of its field were already booked by representatives of national tourism administrations and tourism companies from France, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Poland, Israel, India, Malaysia, Azerbaijan, Russia, Turkey and Thailand, as well as Uzbekistan.
