Tashkent hosts industry aviation conference Asia Connect: Aviation Strategy

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 June, the international conference Asia Connect: Aviation Strategy opened its doors in Tashkent. Here, in the format of an open dialogue, the current state and prospects of the air transport market, the development of route networks, financing and leasing of aircraft, as well as the exchange of best aviation business practices in the Central Asian region and neighboring countries are being discussed.

The development of route networks throughout the region of Central Asia and neighboring countries, progress in the development of commercial aviation and airports, as well as issues related to the promotion of the tourism industry, will be among the main topics of this conference.

Over the past few years, Uzbekistan has experienced a sharp increase in both business and leisure air travel. There are many different reasons for this, ranging from intense economic growth supported by large international investors from the Middle East, the EU, China and other countries, to global changes in transport and logistics routes.

The main goal of the international conference Asia Connect: Aviation Strategy is an open dialogue between the professional community of different countries, the exchange of views and experience. The composition of speakers and topics is formed based on the request of the target audience. If you want to talk about the achievements of your company, share information, make a presentation, case study or take part in panel discussions, please send an application.

“Now many new airlines are being created in Uzbekistan. I hope that in the near future this will support the demand for the development of tourism and business activity in all regions of the country. As a holding that manages international airports, we are trying to prepare the airport infrastructure as quickly as possible to meet this demand. For foreign airlines, an open skies regime has been introduced. However, we see that demand significantly exceeds supply, and the capacity of existing airlines is not enough to meet the needs of both citizens of Uzbekistan and guests of the republic, added Rano Juraeva, General Director of Uzbekistan Airports JSC.

Representatives of the top management of airlines and airports from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and other countries, as well as representatives of the management of international aircraft manufacturing and leasing companies, financial institutions were invited as speakers and participants in the conference.

Airlines and airports in the region are actively developing, expanding and renewing their aircraft fleet, opening flights to new destinations and attracting new customers. The one-day conference will bring together leading professionals from airlines and airports, leasing companies and aircraft manufacturers from Asia and Europe to network and discuss the industry’s most important issues and challenges.

The Asia Connect: Aviation Strategy Forum brought together over 200 leaders from airlines, airports, service providers and regulators to discuss the realities, trends and future of the industry in the region. The conference is supported by the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Embraer.

Air transport, facing unprecedented challenges, is undergoing tectonic changes. The COVID-19 pandemic has seriously affected the entire civil aviation of the world. The closure of Russia’s vast airspace has had a significant impact on the overall structure of air travel. Against this background, the demand for the services of Central Asian and Caucasian airlines and airports is growing, and new opportunities are opening up for them, requiring a correction in their development strategy.

The main topics of the conference:

- Big picture of the region: connecting Europe and Asia

- Uzbekistan air transportation market - creating new opportunities

- Central Asia in the new reality of air transport

- Airport trends and opportunities to shape the future

- Airport master planning - application of international best practices

- Exclusive views and news from key airline and airport executives

Keynote presentations will alternate with several panel discussions, which will be attended by the leaders of airlines and airports present in the Central Asian air transportation market.
