Tashkent hosts Chemie Uzbekistan 2010 and Plastex Uzbekistan 2010
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chemie Uzbekistan 2010, the Fourth Central Asian International Exhibition for the Chemical Industry, took place in the capital of Uzbekistan on 17-19 November.

Plastex Uzbekistan 2010, the First International Specialised Exhibition for Raw Materials, Equipment, Plastic and Rubber Production and Processing Technologies, was held alongside Chemie Uzbekistan.

The exhibitions were organised by the international exhibition company ITE Uzbekistan, a member of UFI, and its partner ITE Exhibitions & Conferences Ltd. (UK).

With the rapid economic development of Uzbekistan, the important chemical industry, the products of which are needed in almost all industry sectors, has come to the foreground. Today, the chemical industry - with its significant production, raw materials, and scientific and technical potential - is one of the leading economic sectors in Uzbekistan. The main source of information determining its future development is the Chemie Uzbekistan exhibition, which this year was held as a separate event, as well as the new exhibition Plastex Uzbekistan.

The exhibitions featured 30 companies from 9 countries, including Belgium, Germany, India, China, South Korea, Russia, USA, Uzbekistan and Switzerland. Exhibitors’ stands demonstrated the contribution of chemical technologies to various industries.

A central position at the exhibition was occupied by the stand of Uzkimyosanoat SJSC, which comprised 12 key businesses in Uzbekistan’s chemical industry, operating in every field from production to domestic and international supply.

The significant potential of the domestic chemical and polymer industry was underlined by the participation of the Shurtan Gas-Chemical Complex, which was the only manufacturer in the country of high quality polyethylene. The plant has a capacity of 125,000 tons of polyethylene granules. Shurtan GCC has established recycling of polyethylene and produces more than 2500 tons per year of finished products in the form of pipes and fittings for pressure piping from high density polyethylene.

Among the newcomers was a leader of the chemical industry, Solvay S.A. (Belgium), which manufactures a wide range of chemical products, and Alroko GmbH (Germany), which presented at its stand raw materials and equipment for the chemical and petrochemical industries.

Chinese companies also participate widely: Bole, Beirer, Xin Jiang Huang Jin Mid-Asia Engineering Technology Co, Ltd., and Yaoan (Anfu) Plastic Machine Co., Ltd., which are major manufacturers of extrusion lines, blow moulding machinery, injection moulding machinery, processing equipment, moulds, automatic moulding machines and accessories.

Plastex Uzbekistan is a new event in the industry. The exhibition is held under the internationally recognised brand Plastex, and for the first time will combine the interests of companies engaged in the production and processing of plastics, polymers and rubber in Uzbekistan.

ITE already organises exhibitions on the same subject in Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine. The plastics industry is developing rapidly worldwide. Today, plastics are needed in every sector and the plastics industry is still a young, dynamic and innovative industry.

Uzbekistan’s plastics and polymer industry is developing in direct proportion to the demand for PVC and products made from polymers, which are used in the construction, food, textile, automotive and other industries.

Producers and processors of raw materials, manufacturers of machinery and equipment for the production and processing of plastics and rubber, and consumers need a central international platform capable of facilitating information sharing and communication on a global level. Plastex Uzbekistan will serve as this platform.

At Plastex Uzbekistan 2010, recent achievements in the polymer industry were presented by manufacturers of machinery and lines for plastics extrusion, and equipment for foam sheet extrusion: Kabra Extrusiontechnik Limited (India) and Myung-Il Foamtec (Republic of Korea); and producers of polypropylene, PVC pipes and fittings, and PVC film: Farn-Engineering Llc (Russia), Elit Polimer (Uzbekistan), Mahsus Polymer Ltd. (Uzbekistan), Polimer Group Asia (Uzbekistan) and others.

The business programme of the exhibitions included event dedicated to effectiveness. The programme included a seminar-presentation by the American company Honeywell Resins And Chemicals on “Sulf-N®26: A modern fertiliser for a modern world” and a seminar by UOP, one of the main subsidiaries of Honeywell, on "The recent achievements of UOP in oil refining, petrochemistry and gas processing”.
