Tashkent hosts an Uzbek-Chinese business forum
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A business forum of representatives of entrepreneurial circles of Uzbekistan and China took place at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan on Monday, 10 September 2012.

The delegation of business circles of the Chinese Committee on development of international trade of Shaanxi province of China arrives in Uzbekistan on 9 September 2012 with four day visit.

The visit was organized for further developing the Uzbek-Chinese trade-economic and investment cooperation.

The delegation includes seven Chinese companies, which are engaged in construction of roads, coal and chemistry industry, production of construction materials, energy, heavy machinery.

During the event, the Chinese delegation received detailed information on continuing wide scale privatization process, results of economic reforms during the forum. The issues of implementation of joint high-tech projects at Navoi free industrial-economic zone and Angren special industrial zone were discussed.

Uzbek entrepreneurs familiarized themselves with economy of Shaanxi province, firms and companies, based in this province, opportunities for developing tourism at the event.

The participants exchanged views on further development of cooperation between countries in economic, investment, trade, small business and private entrepreneurship, power industry, agriculture, tourism, coal and chemical industry, car-making, attraction of Chinese companies to the privatization process in our country, implementation of several joint projects.

China is one of the largest trade partners of Uzbekistan. In 2011, the mutual trade between two states made up US$2.596 billion. In January-June 2012, the trade turnover rose by 54.5% year-on-year to US$1.609 billion.

Some 382 joint enterprises with Chinese investment and 65 representative offices of Chinese firms and companies operate in Uzbekistan.
