The capital of Uzbekistan has been awarded for the contribution to the formation of the national statehood, strengthening peace and stability, development of inter-state cooperation, friendship among peoples, preservation of good traditions, national and human values.

The city of Tashkent is celebrating its 2,200th anniversary this year, which will be marked on 1 September, UzA reported.
