Tashkent and Saint Petersburg Sign “Roadmap” for Cooperation Through 2028

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting took place at the Tashkent city administration between the Hokim of the capital, Shavkat Umurzakov, and the Governor of Saint Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, accompanied by his delegation.

The officials emphasized that cooperation is developing in line with agreements between the presidents of the two countries and plays a significant role in strengthening Uzbek-Russian relations. Particular attention was given to the exchange of experience in healthcare, education, and industry.

It was noted that modern Tashkent is a city focused on the needs of its residents, implementing large-scale infrastructure projects and creating a comfortable, safe, and environmentally friendly urban environment.

During the discussions, prospects for expanding partnerships between districts of Tashkent and Saint Petersburg, as well as deepening trade and economic cooperation, were considered. It was stressed that Uzbekistan remains one of Russia’s key trading partners, and future cooperation will be strengthened through the intensification of business contacts.

The negotiations were held in a warm and constructive atmosphere. Both sides expressed their readiness to further develop partnership relations and hold regular meetings, including for experience exchange and discussion of new joint projects.

At the conclusion of the meeting, an Action Plan (“roadmap”) for 2025–2028 was signed, outlining the implementation of agreements reached between the Tashkent city administration and the Government of Saint Petersburg in the areas of trade and economy, science and technology, and culture.
