Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent and Berlin have not reached an agreement on the repatriation of Afghan refugees through Uzbekistan.

A source familiar with the situation denied information about the preparation of a migration pact between Germany and Uzbekistan on this issue, RIA Novosti reported.

The Uzbek side claims that it has no agreement with the German side on the return of Afghan citizens through its territory.

Earlier, German media reported that Germany was considering the possibility of concluding such a pact, within the framework of which Uzbekistan would accept Afghans deported from Germany and organize their return to their home country.

However, at the moment this remains only a matter of discussion and has no official confirmation from the Uzbek government.

Uzbekistan, in turn, advocates providing opportunities for highly qualified Uzbek workers in the German labor market, which is also a topic of dialogue between the parties.
