“Tashkent-2200” album published
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The publishing house Uzbekistan issued an album “Tashkent-2200” devoted to the jubilee of the country’s capital.

The album consists of three chapters and contains unique historical photos and materials.

The first chapter is called “Tashkent in ancient times and middle ages”. It tells of the ancient Tashkent oasis, instruments found here, rock carvings, statues from elephant bone and other items.

It contains information on the settlements Shoshtepa, Aktepa, Yunusabad, Mingurik, Binkat, Kanka, and historical and cultural processes on the territory of the city and its surroundings.

The chapter also analyses the stages of development of Islamic culture in Tashkent, illustrated by classic samples of national architecture, including mausoleums of Shaikh Zainiddin bobo, Shaikh Hovand Tohur, Yunuskhon and Imom Kaffol Shoshi, madrassahs Kukeldash, Barakkhan and Muyi Muborak.

The second chapter is called “Tashkent in 1860-1990” and it speaks, using historical pictures and photos, about the difficult historical path of the city in the middle of the 19th century, during the tsar colonialism and the totalitarian regime.

The third chapter, “Today’s Tashkent”, is devoted to the modern development of the capital. It describes the wide-scale transformations that took place over the past 18 years in accordance with the concept of the city’s development.

The chapter contains photos of central administrative buildings, including the Presidential residence Oqsaroy, the Senate and the Legislative Chamber, the Cabinet of Ministers, as well as the Independence Square, the International Forums Palace and modern educational, medical, sports, cultural and industrial objects.

The album has been published in Uzbek, Russian and English languages.
