Tariffs for external Internet channel for operators and providers falls by 34% in 2020

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – The total bandwidth of connecting to international Internet channels in 2019 was 1,200 Gbps.

Through the International Center for Packet Switching, the opportunity was created to access the Internet at a speed of 750 Gbit/s, and the download level of the external channel grew by 76.6%.

Since the beginning of 2020, the tariff for an external Internet channel for operators and providers has dropped by 34% compared to the same period of last year and made up 56,000 soums per 1 Mbps.

Last year, as a result of the installation of 2,017 new base stations of mobile communications, mobile communication coverage in Uzbekistan reached 96%, and broadband access in mobile Internet networks - 70%. In the current year, it is planned to establish 2,200 new stations, mainly in remote areas.

To increase the attractiveness of service, tourism, trade and public catering facilities, more than 685 Internet access points via Wi-Fi networks were involved at all sights, railway stations and airports.

In 2019, a total of 10.6 trillion soums of services were rendered in the ICT sector, and the export volume reached US$176 million
