The quiz included questions on information security, computer viruses and antivirus programs. A joint programme of UNDP “ICT Policy” (ICTP) Project and Communication and Information Agency of Uzbekistan, the radio project is aired on “Uzbegim Taronasi” radio station twice a month.

Hujaniezov, a second-year student of the Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts, is a regular listener of the radio program.

Hujaniezov said: “Only recently have I discovered an IT sphere for myself, but I was able to correctly answer all questions and became winner. Now, I have a web-camera which will give me the opportunity to visually communicate with my friends living outside Uzbekistan".

Each program comprises three parts: news on ICT including those both in Uzbekistan and abroad, thematic areas as well as an interactive radio quiz program on information and communication technologies.

In the recent program, listeners received detailed information on information security, computer viruses, antivirus software and means of information protection. In addition, they learned about ICT news in Uzbekistan as well as in foreign countries. The program climaxed with the radio contest that aroused interest among listeners. Listeners from the cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, Navoi and Tashkent called to the studio. Activity of listeners from regions who reached the radio station by phone has grown since the first radio roadcast.

The goal of radio project is to increase public awareness among Uzbek people in ICT development both domestically and worldwide.

A TV project “Taraqqiyot sari” on «Uzbekistan» channel of National Teleradiocompany of Uzbekistan is another project also on information and communication technologies. It serves as a basis for the "Taraqqiyot sari" radio project. Both programs are a product of UNDP ICT Policy (ICTP) Project and supported by Communication and Information Agency of Uzbekistan.
