Economy 09/07/2007 TAPOiCh to assemble two IL-76s for Jordan

The First Vice Premier of the Russian Federation Sergey Ivanov told about the plans to expand cooperation with Uzbekistan in the field of aircraft construction during the meeting in Tashkent on 4 July.

He particularly noted that if certain agreements are achieved, cooperation will be expanded between the Russian United Aircraft Building Corporation and the Tashkent Aircraft Production Corporation named after Chkalov (TAPOiCh).

Ivanov said that during the meeting in Tashkent "the talks were of course not only about the two specific aircrafts, but also about the prospects of the aviation complex in general. Russia made a number of proposals, which were accepted by Uzbekistan with interest."

As reported earlier, during the Russian First Vice Premier’s visit to Uzbekistan, an agreement on the production of two military-transportation IL-76s, for which Jordan had placed an order with Russia, was signed. A representative of the Ilyushin Company signed the document on behalf of the Russian party.
