Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Within the framework of the Asian Women’s Forum held in Samarkand, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva held a meeting with the Chairperson of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova.

At the beginning of the dialogue, the parties noted that open and reliable relations between the leaders of the two countries are a solid basis for the development of cooperation between the countries.

At the meeting, special attention was paid to the mutual cooperation of parliaments to ensure the implementation of high-level bilateral agreements, including legal support for joint projects in trade, economic, transport, communications, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.

The parties expressed interest in further strengthening relations and mutual support within the framework of international organizations and inter-parliamentary structures.

Sahiba Gafarova also emphasized that the Asian Women’s Forum, organized for the first time at the initiative of Uzbekistan, will become an important platform for expanding the economic, social and political rights and opportunities of women, and wished success to the work of the forum.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to further intensify cooperation between women entrepreneurs of the two countries and intensify the dialogue between young parliamentarians.
