Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva held negotiations with the Speaker of the Lower House of the Indian Parliament Om Birla in St. Petersburg.

During the meeting, issues related to expanding political, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian, tourist, and inter-parliamentary cooperation between Uzbekistan and India were discussed.

The dialogue focused on practical aspects of developing inter-parliamentary relations. It was emphasized that there is a need to establish systematic parliamentary oversight over the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level and to exchange experiences in legislation and e-parliament through mutual visits.

An agreement was reached to develop and approve a draft document aimed at strengthening cooperation covering these aspects.
