Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 4 April, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbaeva, held a meeting with the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Duarte Pacheco.

During the discussion, issues related to Uzbekistan’s ongoing cooperation with the Inter-Parliamentary Union were addressed, as well as the program, event plan, and new projects related to the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which will soon take place in Tashkent.

Special attention was given to the fact that hosting the Assembly in Uzbekistan is a strong testament to the social reforms taking place in the country, the increased focus on the social sector, and the active international engagement of the Uzbek parliament.

It was noted that the Tashkent Declaration will serve as the foundation for developing a new "road map" for the Inter-Parliamentary Union, aimed at implementing important initiatives in the field of social development.

Additionally, the parties exchanged views on the effectiveness of joint work with the Inter-Parliamentary Union and discussed future plans.
