Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Tanzila Narbaeva has been elected Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Senator Sodik Safaev has been elected as First Deputy Chairman of the Senate, and Senator Amanbay Orynbaev has been appointed as Deputy Chairman.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the newly elected Chairman of the Senate Tanzila Narbaeva, as well as her deputies Sodik Safaev and Amanbay Orynbaev, wishing them success and accomplishments in their future work.
"Just imagine, out of 37 million people, only 65 have had the great honor and happiness of becoming senators. This is a tremendous trust and responsibility that must be justified through honest and dedicated service. You will make a worthy contribution to laying the foundation for the New Uzbekistan and the Third Renaissance, passing people’s fair laws, and setting an example for all," he said.
"In you, esteemed senators, I see my closest like-minded people — dedicated individuals capable of great deeds, who deeply understand the strategic tasks facing Uzbekistan and place the interests of the Motherland and the people above all else," the head of state added.
"I am confident that you will use all your knowledge, experience, strength, and resources to open a new, bright chapter in the life of our country and the activities of the Senate," said the President, concluding the session.
