Tajikistan is guilty for Uzbekistan’s pullout from CA power grid
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tajikistan is guilty for decision of Uzbekistan to exit from the Central Asian power grid, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kyrgyz Republic said in a statement.

The statement said Tajikistan systematically violated agreements and set rules of the activity of the Central Asian power grid and Coordination Dispatcher Center Energiya.

It further accused Tajikistan for illegal extraction of energy and with this move created serious problems to energy systems of the neighbouring states, including Uzbekistan.

The statement said southern part of Tajik energy system was cut off due to system accident at Nurek hydro power stations with spontaneous stoppage of aggregates on 9 November 2009. In the result of the accident, all hydro power stations at Vahsh river stopped in the result of the accident, including newly built Sangtudin station.

According to experts, the accident occurred due to violation of technologic mode. When, the volume of electricity consumption increased significantly in morning pick hours, the generation volume at the station was low. The emergency system did not work and did not disconnected excess consumers. Dispatcher services, which should control the process, did not response as well.

The release said the accident negatively affected power system of Uzbekistan and power supply line was disconnected in Surkhandarya region. In the result, the power supply to Afghanistan was interrupted.

Uzbekistan said it cannot be part of the system in existence of violations and illegal extraction of electricity, which threatens stability and reliability of national power system. The statement said no one can refuse that Uzbekistan has right to create own reliable power system.
