Economy20/11/2007Tajikistan in favour of opening Eurasian migration centre
Tajikistan attaches great significance to the soonest formation of the Eurasian migration centre as one of the important factors in socially protecting the work of the citizens of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) member states, Tajik Deputy Prime Minister Khayrinisso Yusufi [Mavlonova] said today at the session of the social policy council under the EurAsEC Integration Committee.
The EurAsEC is an international economic organization comprising six countries: Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine have the status of observers at the organization.
According to official information of the Tajik side, up to 500,000 Tajik citizens work in the CIS countries, especially in Russia. Independent experts affirm that this figures are higher than this.
EurAsEC Secretary-General Tair Mansurov is also participating in the session of the social policy council under the EurAsEC Integration Committee. He is also expected to meet Tajik President Emomali Rahmon in the afternoon.
