Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, held talks with Andrîn Fink, Deputy Head of Mission at the Swiss Embassy in Uzbekistan.

The discussions focused on advancing IT education, strengthening international cooperation, and implementing new digital technology initiatives.

An agreement was signed between the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the IT Education Association to launch the project "Connecting Stakeholders for Inclusive Growth through IT and Digital Education Development in Uzbekistan."

The project aims to ensure equal access to digital education, enhance IT skills among youth, and accelerate the country’s economic growth.

Key components of the project include:

Analyzing the current level of digital skills among the population.

Identifying market-demanded professions.

Developing a digital platform to consolidate IT training resources.

Special emphasis will be placed on upskilling youth and providing job opportunities for women in remote areas of the country.

The Swiss agency has allocated a $150,000 grant to the IT Education Association to implement the initiative’s first phase.

This collaboration is expected to accelerate Uzbekistan’s digital transformation, expand economic opportunities, and boost the nation’s competitiveness in the global IT market.
