Within the programme, the region will solve actual issues of developing of tourism and reach short-term goals. Some US$7.06 million will be directed to the programme implementation.

The programme includes a complex of measures, implementation of which will help to attract more tourists to Surkhandarya region.

As Surkhandarya possesses unique historic-architecture heritage, the programme pays attention to restoration and conservation of historic objects. It is planned to restore Qirq Qiz and Fayoz Tepa monuments in Terme district and Imam Termezi mosque in Sherabad district, Said Otalik madrasah in Denau district.

The programme stipulates reconstruction of hotel complexes Navruzbek Maftun Sevinch, Meridian, Premim-Prof, and Sharq. It is also planned to build hotels with 30 and 25 rooms.

The progamme stipulates construction of motel with 20 rooms in Sherabad district along the Uzbek national highway and camping in Termez district, Uzbektourism said.

It is planned to develop infrastructure for treatment and rehabilitation tourism. Rehabilitation complex “Uchqizil Diagnostika Markazi” in Termez district and Resort Zone in Uchqizil lake.

Uzbekistan plans to develop ecologic tourism in Baisun district. It is planned to reconstruct and equip Chinor Hotel.
