Summer training camp opens its doors
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- “Kelajak ovozi” summer training camp has opened its doors to roughly 500 talented boys and girls from all parts of Uzbekistan. Located in Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan, the camp is tuning into one of the most-awaited and most engaging projects of the Youth Initiative Centre.

This year the collaborative project of Kelajak ovozi YIC and the Fund Forum has been supported by a number of foreign partners such as the British Council, UNFPA, Korean International Cooperation Agency, Japanese International Cooperation Agency, UN Volunteers, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Korean Interner Volunteers Program, Nagoya University (Japan) and Westminster University (UK).

Besides a strong team of leading trainers from Uzbekistan, the camp provides master classes and training sessions taught by specialists from Italy, USA, Japan, Germany and Korea. The camp agenda comprises three major parts: education, culture, and sport. Last year the camp focused on economic models and the children studies the subtleties of doing business under the circumstances of the global financial crisis while this year the theme is more interesting and more ambitious. Emphasis will be on the study of issues related to international cooperation, humanitarian, cultural and economic links.

“Each of these boys and girls have their own dreams, talents, a desire to contribute to societal development,” said Marat Rakhimov, the chief trainer of Kelajak ovozi camp. “Therefore I take great delight in working with them and I continue to do so every year. I can see our efforts are yielding results.”

Children really love the camp. The program is very intense, every day they have interactive workshops and training sessions, various competitions, sports competitions, cultural excursions, meetings, and games. While young journalists from the youth television studios from all regions provide coverage of all events in their own news blocks.
