Subscribers’ base of UCell reaches 7 million-point
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- FE COSCOM LLC (rendering its services under UCell brand), the second mobile operator in Uzbekistan, has reached the milestone of 7 million subscribers in accordance with the subscribers reporting rules of Uzbekistan.

The operator said that number of subscribers reached with high trends. UCell reached the sixth millionth point about three months ago.

Mr. Oguz Memiguven, the CEO of FE COSCOM LLС, said: “This is significant achievement for our company. UCell continues to gain trust of population of Uzbekistan and I am grateful to all our subscribers for their choice. We believe that mobile communication in important tool in communication and rapprochement of people. UCell will please its subscribers with new great proposals.”

FE Coscom LLC was founded in 1996. As of June 2008, the company began rendering services of mobile communication under the UCell brand. The company's subscriber base exceeded 5 million at the end of 2009.

UCell is part of TeliaSonera. TeliaSonera provides telecommunication services in the Nordic and Baltic countries, the emerging markets of Eurasia, including Russia and Turkey, and in Spain. TeliaSonera is now in 20 markets with close to 460 million inhabitants. The number of subscriptions in 2009 reached over 147.6 million. For the year 2009, TeliaSonera's net sales amounted to approximately USD 14.3 billion and TeliaSonera had around 30,000 employees.
