Students of Uzbekistan win 57 medals at the International Mathematics Olympiad

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The International University of Humanities and Development (MUGniR) is hosting the IV Open Mathematical Olympiad among students of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and abroad (OMOUS-2024).

More than 500 students from higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, China, Bulgaria, Indonesia and the host Turkmenistan took part in it. Among them are 79 students from 18 higher educational institutions of our country.

Participants in the Olympiad demonstrate their knowledge of mathematics in individual and team competitions. The official languages of the Olympics are Turkmen and English.

Students from our country competed in the individual and team stages provided for by the Olympic program and took 3rd place, winning a total of 7 gold, 15 silver and 35 bronze medals.

Gold medals were earned in the individual competition in category A - Rasul Koshnazarov, Anvarbek Masharipov (Urgench State University), Nabikhon Nabihonov (Uzbek National University), Damir Dilmuratov (Korakalpok State University), in category B - students of the Tashkent State Economic University Humoyun Abdurasulov and Tohirbek Tulanov, and in the team competition the gold medal was won by the team of the National University of Uzbekistan consisting of Nabikhon Nabikhonov, Fatkhulla Keldiyorov and Hasan Tuyliev.

Last year, at this Olympiad, participants from Uzbekistan took 4th place, winning a total of 5 silver and 13 bronze medals.
