The conference was organized by the Creative Journalists Unions, National Association of Electronic Mass Media, Public Fund on Support and Development of Independent Print Mass Media, Uzbekistan News Agency and UZINFOCOM center. It was aimed at improving awareness of students in development of ICT and popularization of Internet.

It was said Uzbekistan understands need to use advantages of ICT and Internet in society, especially in mass media as it helps to access to information, improve well-being of population and economic growth.

Students of journalism faculty of the National University attended the conference and present reports on actual issues of ICT use in mass media.

Participants considered opportunities of Internet and its priorities over traditional mass media, problems of traditional approaches in presenting information and use of ICT in journalism. They also got acquainted with experience and achievements of Japan, US and India in ICT sector, as well as development of Internet journalism in Uzbekistan.
