Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the visit of the Uzbek delegation to Ankara (Turkey), on 30 May 2019, the meeting of Acting Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the Development of Tuism A. Akkulov with the head of the Turkish State TV and Radio Company TRT I. Eren and coordinator of the television channel TRT-AVAZ S. Sagirkaya took place.

During the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation on the promotion of all types of tourism through the creation of informational video materials for the purpose of demonstration on TRT TV channels was signed between the State Committee on Tourism and the Turkish television channel TRT-AVAZ.

At the same time, the foreign partner was informed about the measures and reforms adopted by the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at developing the tourism industry in the country, in particular about working to increase the tourist flow from foreign countries, as well as about the benefits and preferences for foreign investors. At the same time, the Turkish side highly appreciated the favorable conditions created for tourists and expressed the opinion that Uzbekistan today has a huge tourism potential among the Silk Road countries, which is also widely promoted by TRT-Avaz. 

The foreign side stressed that the tourist potential of Uzbekistan is actively promoted on the TRT-Avaz channel not only in the Republic of Turkey, but also in foreign countries where the channel is broadcast. Also, it was noted that such events as the “International Festival of Macom” and “International Bakhshi Festival” are widely covered on the TRT-Avaz TV channels.

In addition, the foreign side noted that to date, TRT-Avaz is working to raise awareness of the global audience with such great religious figures and enlighteners of Uzbekistan as Al-Bukhariy, Al-Motrudi, Naqshbandi, At-Termizy, Az- Zamahsharii, Ibn Sina and many others, as a result of which it is planned to create several feature films about prominent Islamic thinkers and scholars.

In turn, the head of the Uzbek delegation A. Akkulov said that he was ready to provide organizational and technical assistance in the implementation of these projects. Also, the foreign side was informed about the readiness of Uzbekistan to provide practical assistance in the implementation of any projects involving the promotion of the tourism potential of Uzbekistan. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to make the necessary efforts to further develop bilateral relations in the field of tourism.
