Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Employees of the State Security Service (SSS) of Uzbekistan arrested a prosecutor, investigator and lawyer for bribery, the press service of the State Security Service said.

In Jizzakh region, a prosecutor was detained who demanded a thousand dollars and a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra phone from a citizen to clear a criminal record under Article 167 (theft).

In Tashkent, an investigator and two investigators from the investigative department of the Yakkasaray district, acting in conspiracy, promised to reclassify the charge of the accused in the case of selling drugs for a bribe. One of them was detained while receiving a bribe in the amount of US$7 thousand.

Also in Tashkent, two scammers, through friends in the prosecutor’s office, promised the accused under Article 168 (fraud) to settle the criminal case. They asked for US$50 thousand for their services. One of the scammers was detained while accepting a bribe.

In the Namangan region, a lawyer demanded US$10 thousand for assistance in assigning a non-custodial sentence to the accused in a fraud case. He was detained while receiving an advance in the amount of US$8 thousand. Previously, the lawyer was convicted of premeditated murder.

In all these cases, criminal cases have been initiated, and the suspects have been taken into custody.
