State Property Committee, IFC discuss improving corporate management
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Representatives of the State Property Committee of Uzbekistan and International Financial Corporation (IFC) held a meeting to discuss issues related to international experience on improving corporate management practice on 16 December 2011.

The IFC delegation briefed the Uzbek side on Corporate Management project, work on which was held in governmental level in Eastern Europe, Asia and CIS, including Bosnia, Vietnam, Georgia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyz Republic, etc.

The IFC officials provided information on development of legislation on corporate management in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. The major part of project was devoted to seminar s and trainings. The project is aimed at assisting enterprises to create internal documentation.

As a rule, within the project, the IFC studies corporate management in the country and enterprises, interviews heads of companies and prepare final document. It takes five-six months. The final document includes recommendations on improving corporate management.

State Property Committee officials said that Uzbekistan has developed normative base on corporate management and the country always pays attention to improvement of the corporate managements and it is interested in experience of foreign states and is ready to cooperate in this area with international organizations.

During the meeting, the sides agreed to exchange information between two organizations on corporate management and consider opportunities on holding seminars in Uzbekistan. The sides agreed to hold regular contacts.
