State Demonopolization Committee studies polyethylene pipes production market
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State Committee of Uzbekistan on Demonopolization and Development of Competition (State Demonopolization Committee) conducted a study of the market of production and realization of polyethylene pipes market.

The analysis showed that there are four enterprises, engaged in production and realization of polyethylene pipes in Uzbekistan. They are located in Navoi region. These businesses entities purchase polyethylene granules from Shortan Gaz Chemical Complex, located in Kashkadarya region.

The study revealed that Polytelen Quvurlari, located in Navoi region, purchased polyethylene granules directly from Shortan Gaz Chemical Complex.

Shortan Gaz Chemical Complex sold polyethylene granules to its subsidiary Polytelen Quvurlari for 1.591 million soums per tonne on declared prices in September 2010, while Nargiza-K purchased this product on market price of 4.79 million soums with VAT per tonne.

The committee said that Shortan Gaz Chemical Complex violated a law “On competition and limiting monopoly activity in goods markets” and created unequal conditions for business entities.

The committee adopted decision to open case against Shortan Gaz Chemical Complex and issued order to the company to stop violations.
