Kvartz OJSC had been the only company in Uzbekistan for 15 years, which produced this product in Uzbekistan and it dominated the market.

Currently, there are four enterprises on production of glass bottles in Uzbekistan – Kvartz (Ferghana region), Asl Oyna (Tashkent city), Bottle Systems (Tashkent city) and GLASSFILD (Karakalpakstan).

Besides, the main consumers of glass bottles in Uzbekistan are producers of drinks, vinegar, and liquid medicaments and they buy glass bottles from these enterprises and foreign companies.

Total volume of realized products made up 209.5 million units in 2010 and 213.8 million in 2011. Share of these enterprises in total market makes up less than 50%.

According to the law “On competition”, companies, possessing 50% or higher share in the market, hold dominating position in the market.

The committee noted that the development of the market on production and realization of glass bottles is decreasing number of enterprises with dominating position.
