State Demonopolization Committee helps consumers to return 845m soums
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State Committee of Uzbekistan on Demonopolization and Development of Competition summed up some results of its activity in 2011.

In his New Year congratulation, acting chairperson of the committee Umar Turdiev said that in 2011, some 30 enterprises were realized through open auctions to potential owners and 36 enterprises were rehabilitated from some 187 bankrupt enterprises.

At the same time, he noted that in the result of studying execution of antimonopoly legislation and natural monopoly legislation, some 7.7 billion re-calculated.

Turdiev underlined that the committee considered over 6,700 applications of citizens and returned to consumers some 845 million soums.

He said that in upcoming New Year, the main tasks of the committee will be gradual implementation of effective competition policy, ensure and develop competition markets, protect consumer rights, financial rehabilitation and liquidation of insolvent enterprises of real sector of economy, etc.
