State Competition Committee forces banks to cut their prices
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State Committee of Uzbekistan for privatization, demonopolization and development of competition studied the market of service on issuing and servicing local banking cards for individuals in foreign currency to make payments to purchase automobiles.

In the result of the study, Asaka Bank and Kapitalbank were included to State registrar of business entities, dominating in goods or financial market on rendering service on issuing and servicing local banking cards for individuals in foreign currency, the State Competition Committee said.

Monitoring of the tariffs for this services revealed that Asaka Bank and Kapitalbank charge US$30 to issue local banking cards in hard currency.

The State Competition Committee said that these tariffs were monopoly high. The Committee opened cases against two banks and ordered to avoid use of monopoly high prices. The banks decreased their tariff to US$20 in the result.
