The meeting was held within the state visit of the President of the Republic of Korea Park Geun-hye to Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan and South Korea are expanding cooperation in the sphere of information-communication technologies.

In April 2014, the memorandum of understanding between the Center for development of electronic government system and National Information Society Agency was signed, the State Communication Committee said.

The document envisages cooperation in development of electronic government via exchange of experience, research, knowledge and modern methods on public governance, develop new services, etc.

During the meeting, the sides have been cooperating in line with the memorandum, which was signed in2012.

The sides considered further issues of developing bilateral cooperation in new directions of telecommunications and information-communication technologies. The sides exchanged opinion on perspective directions of IT development.

The sides expressed their intention to continue to develop bilateral cooperation.
