State Budget of Uzbekistan executed with 0.1% surplus to GDP
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Committee of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan on budget and economic reforms held a session to consider implementation of the state budget of Uzbekistan in the first half of 2013.

Deputy Minister of Finance of Uzbekistan Mubin Mirzaev delived a report on execution of the state budget in the first half of 2013.

It was noted that macroeconomic stability and gradual growth of economy was ensured in the first six months of 2013.

It was said that Uzbekistan’s economy grew by 8%. Industrial output rose by 8.2%, agriculture production – 7.3%, retail trade turnover – 14.6% and paid services – 12.1%. Uzbekistan achieved positive foreign trade balance in the reporting period.

The country created 554,400 new jobs in the first half of 2013, of which 344,400 were created in rural areas. Income of the State budget made up 24.3% to GDP and expenses 24.2% to GDP. The budget surplus made up 0.1% to GDP.

The session underlined that main part of expenses of the State Budget was directed to social sector, including to development of education, healthcare, support of population, pensions, stipends and allowances.

It was said that some budget organizations committed untargeted use of financial resources, which was criticized by MPs.

The session participants said that laws “On budget system”, “On accounting”, “On treasury execution of the state budget” and others are not fully executed in the places.
