Starting from 2027, Artists in Uzbekistan to be required to declare income and pay taxes
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Starting in 2027, artists in Uzbekistan will be required to submit income declarations and pay taxes. This was announced on 1 April by the First Deputy Chairman of the Tax Committee, Mubin Mirzaev.
Under the current regulations, artists are required to submit an annual declaration of their total income by April 1 and pay personal income taxes based on that income. However, according to Mirzaev, many artists fail to comply with this procedure and do not fully declare their income, on which taxes should be paid.
The Tax Committee is preparing a draft resolution aimed at combating the shadow economy, which will require both legal entities and individuals, including artists, to submit declarations of their total annual income and pay taxes accordingly.
From 2025 to 2026, the Tax Committee will not hold artists accountable for tax evasion, allowing them the opportunity to submit corrected declarations and resolve any discrepancies.
