Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the age of 86, the famous representative of Uzbek sports journalism Akhbor Imomkhujaev passed away. The death of a football veteran was announced by his grandson Diyor Imomkhujaev. 

Akhbor Imomkhujaev was born on 19 February 1936 in Tashkent. Akhbor Imomkhujaev devoted his whole life to Uzbek sports and is the founder of sports journalism in Uzbekistan. 

For his many years of service, Akhbor Imomkhujaev was awarded the Shukhrat medal and the honorary title of Uzbekistan Republicasida Khizmat Kursatgan Yoshlar Murabbiyi. He is academician of the Academy of Sciences "Turon" and winner of the National Prize of Journalists "Oltin Kalam" ("Golden Pen").
